Ninja

Ninja

They were what we would call spies today, and were active during the Sengoku period (1500-1600) and the Edo period (1600-1860).
They had a variety of abilities honed through rigorous training from childhood, including the leg strength to walk across Japan and carry out espionage activities, the physical skills to sneak into castles and mansions, the fighting ability to take on the enemy when necessary, and the linguistic ability to speak many regional dialects.
Iga City, famous as the birthplace of ninjas, is located in Mie Prefecture, and there are many facilities where you can experience being a ninja.
